Jerry Sneakers - July 5
We are Happy to welcome Tara Sinclair, designer & Instructor with UhOh Creations for the Jerry Sneakers Class. We have two dates available to choose from, there is a maximum of 20 students per class, don't wait as we anticipate this class to fill quickly.
Skill level: Confident Beginner Bag Maker
Technique/Skills taught:
1. Quilting with foam
2. Sewing Accuracy
3. Grommet installation
4. Hand sewing with a sewing awl
5. Topstitching neatly and accurately
The Jerry Sneakers is a quick and fun project that requires the SneakerKit soles and insoles.
The Jerry Sneakers pattern has been designed to be used with quilting cotton, canvas, Mora faux leather, waxed canvas, or waterproof canvas and can be made on a domestic sewing machine! The full lining allows you to customize it to make it as fun or elegant as you want.
After making the shoes and tongues, you will need to hand-sew them to the rubber soles using your favorite method, either a running stitch with a needle and waxed thread, or lockstitch using a sewing awl and waxed thread.
Students will complete one sneaker in class, but will learn the skills required to complete the second at home.
Class Guidelines:
- Sewers are required to bring their own sewing machine, all materials, and equipment as outlined on the Class Prep sheet.
- Cutting tables, and ironing stations will be provided.
- Class is 9:00 am & 5:00 pm. Students will be given a 30 min lunch break at 12:00.
- A catered lunch and snacks will be provided.
- PLEASE NOTE: If we do not meet our class minimum 2 weeks prior to the class, the class will be cancelled and fees refunded.
- There are no refunds on classes if you are unable to attend. If you contact us directly at Thimbles & Thread Quilting at least 14 days before the class, we will issue you a class only store credit. You are welcome to sell you spot to another individual, we just ask that you let us know. The sooner you can let us know you can't make it, we will see if we have someone on the waiting list.
